Development Coordinator
Status: Part Time, Hourly Non-Exempt
Benefits: Vacation time, Sick leave, Dental and Vision insurance
Pay Scale: $22 - $25 per hour, DOE
Overview:
Hours & Days: 24-hours per week; schedule TBD Reports to: Executive Director; is supported by the Programs Manager
Position Summary:
The Development Coordinator supports all administrative aspects of development and fundraising work at JCHS, as well as the Membership Program.
Job Responsibilities:
Development Administrative Support:
Maintain the museum's development database (Little Green Light)
Manage donor and prospect files
Process gifts and acknowledgements
Prepare campaign mailings and other materials
Provide general office support to the development team and Executive Director
Assist with grant administration such as identification, calendar tracking, submissions, reporting, etc.
Membership Program Support
Process memberships in LGL database and produce timely acknowledgment correspondence
Administer membership renewals based on the pre-determined schedule
Lead tracking in LGL database to ensure accurate records of current and future members
Develop reports to share with team members, ensuring effective stewardship of membership program
Develop and implement strategies to attract, upgrade, and retain members
Plan for and implement regular and special membership mailings
Donor Relations:
Assist with donor solicitations, including packet preparation and meeting setup
Support donor stewardship efforts and relationship building
May represent the museum at meetings and visits with funders
Event Support:
Assist with planning, preparation, and execution of special fundraising campaigns or events
Qualifications / Skills:
General office experience in a complex work environment
Exceptional attention to detail
Proficient use, interest, and knowledge of databases (fundraising databases a plus), and the Microsoft Suite (Word and Excel)
Demonstrated ability to exercise excellent judgment, diplomacy, confidentiality, and sensitivity to a range of constituents
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks, to be flexible and to prioritize to meet deadlines
Able to work well in a team environment
Be organized and exhibit follow through on tasks and goals
Ability to work without direct supervision
Familiarity with non-profits, research methods, data standards
Affinity for the mission of JCHS
Affinity for museums, art, history, and community programming
Ability to represent JCHS professionally to a wide variety of stakeholders, and consistently demonstrate the organization’s values including upholding DEAI in our work
Ability to pass a background check
Schedule and Location: Work is conducted primarily at the JCHS Museum of Art + History in Port Townsend, Tuesday through Saturday 9:00AM to 5:00PM with a 24-hour per week schedule to be determined. Some hybrid work will be considered for this position, and work at the museum is in an office setting with long periods of sitting or standing.
