NEW JEFFERSON MUSEUM

Museums are vital community resources. We invite people of different backgrounds, learning styles, ages, and interests into immersive experiences. We draw upon a variety of resources—both historical and artistic—to delight and inspire visitors. And we serve as a gateway to continued learning. However, the experience for visitors at our museum has not been significantly refreshed in decades.

We have a responsibility to share new stories, enliven our community’s curiosity, and make our space more accessible. Along with enhancing our ability to serve visitors, the New Jefferson Museum project will build on work underway to reflect our region’s stories more fully, including those that have been misrepresented or never shared before at the Jefferson Museum.

How You Can Get Involved

Like anything else we do, reimagining our museum experience will require the participation and support of our community. There are many ways to contribute.

Help Us Share More Stories

This project will include opportunities for our community to share their stories and weigh in about what they want to see in their museum experience.

Community contributions may be oral histories, photos, or other items that help bring diverse, immersive stories and experiences to life.

Keep an eye on our upcoming events calendar and make sure you’re signed up to receive our email newsletters to stay informed about opportunities to contribute!

Donate to the Campaign

Every major investment in our museum to date has been a collective effort. The New Jefferson Museum will continue that tradition and there are lots of ways you can help us.

You can make a gift next time you visit the Jefferson Museum or write us at giving@jchsmuseum.com to request a pledge form if you’d like to make a multi-year gift. You can also make your gift to the New Jefferson Museum online.
