Janette Force of JCHS’s Board of Trustees here. I want to extend a heartfelt THANK YOU to everyone who has supported JCHS this year so far!
As you might know, this is the time of year we’d ordinarily be ready to invite you to the Rockin’ Rendezvous, our August storytelling event benefiting JCHS collections. As much as I’ll miss that moment of coming together to celebrate local stories, we will be foregoing it this year. In place of that event, I invite you to support our work directly through our summer supplies fundraiser!
Each summer, our collections team stocks up on all the special, archival materials necessary to properly care for and protect our collections—acid-free papers, glass negative storage systems, textile tubes, and more.
Earlier this summer, I got to tag along on two tours out at the Research Center and watch our esteemed Director of Research and Collections Ellie DiPietro in her element. Her delight in sharing some of our obscure collection artifacts inspired me to call upon our community to support the work of our collections team.
Without Ellie’s professional expertise, our precious collection could be deteriorating without our knowing what we could lose. I am a devoted fan now, Ellie!
Throughout August, we’re raising $5,000 to help pay for this year’s order of supplies needed to care for our collections and gifts of every size truly have an impact.
For perspective: If 19 people can join me in making a $250 summer gift or if a third of our email subscribers can give just $10, we would reach our goal.
It’s an honor and a delight to share exciting arts and heritage experiences with this community that inspires us so much and we cannot thank you enough for your support!
